Pregnancy

We encourage the women who wish to give birth at Delphys to have their prenatal examinations with our midwives at Delphys from the beginning or as soon as possible. This allows the woman and companions to familiarize themselves with the Birth Centre and to get to know our team of midwives and can ultimately contribute to a sense of peace and comfort when the time to give birth arrives.  The midwives monitor whether the unborn child is developing appropriately for its age and whether the pregnancy is progressing normally. They take the time to answer the questions of the pregnant woman and her companions and to address any uncertainties. They know tips and tricks to improve the well-being of the pregnant woman in the event of pregnancy problems. The aim is that the parents-to-be leave the Delphys strengthened after each check-up.

Pregnant women who do not intend to give birth in the Delphys Birth Centre can also take advantage of this service.

During pregnancy, we will check if it is possible for a Delphys midwife to be assigned for postnatal care, otherwise the woman will be advised on options for freelance midwives in her area for postnatal care.

Delphys midwives will refer the pregnant woman to a healthcare professional for ultrasound scans and if the pregnancy develops outside of the normal range. Delphys can accompany families through high-risk pregnancies under the supervision of a doctor.
